Belle Époque considers that there is a golden age of cinema that needs to be preserved.

The historical period that took place in that era is known as ‘’ La Belle Époque’’. Our mission is to restore it in a stronger and modern way.

La Belle Époque is a period in the French and Belgian history between 1871 and the beginning of the WW1 in 1914. This period was characterized by a widespread optimism of a peaceful Europe, the arrival of new technologies and scientific discoveries. Peace and prosperity in Paris allowed the arts to flourish, and many masterpieces of literature, music and visual arts have gained recognition.

In the US, the comparable period which follows the crisis of 1873 is known as ‘’ Gilded Age’’.
